Education must begin with the solution of the teacher-student contradiction, by reconciling the poles of the contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students.”
― Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
The following are glimpses into the values and standards I bring to my work as an educator.
I love to help individuals and organizations develop research that makes a meaningful impact on the students they serve.
That creating community shouldn’t be limited to your circumstance, finances, or social capital.
That I am authentic in my professional roles in ways that include who I am as an advocate, scholar, mom, learner, sister, daughter, wife, and friend in my daily work.
That I should support and affirm others as they navigate their complex realities.
That we all have something to offer, and something to learn. The first step is to truly listen.
Here, I plan to share my current projects and classes, places to gather and discuss research and education policy and practice, and opportunities to collaborate in research.
Education must begin with the solution of the teacher-student contradiction, by reconciling the poles of the contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students.”
